Dong Ding Oolong (Frozen Summit Oolong, 凍頂烏龍) is Taiwan’s classic roasted oolong. Tightly rolled leaves open into a warm, honeyed cup with notes of toasted nuts and caramel, layered over a gentle floral sweetness and a smooth, rounded finish.

Grown on the slopes of Dong Ding Mountain in Lugu, its name, “Frozen Summit”, is said to come from the cold, misty peak where farmers once had to tiptoe up icy paths to reach the tea gardens.

A comforting, full-flavoured tea for those who love depth over brightness.

+ Taiwanese Oolong
+ Traditionally Rolled & Charcoal Roasted
+ Warm Toasty, Honey-Sweet
+ Region: Lugu, Nantou County, Taiwan

TASTING NOTES

👃Fragrance

Warm and inviting, with roasted grain and honey notes balanced by a subtle osmanthus-like floral. The roast leads in early infusions, opening into a sweeter, fruitier aroma as the leaves unfurl.

👅 Taste

Toasted nuts, honey and light caramel, with a soft hint of stone fruit underneath. Mellow and smooth, finishing sweet with a gentle roasted depth.

💪Strength

Medium to full body, rich and rounded. Heavier than greener oolongs, with a lingering warmth that carries well over many infusions.

SOURCE

📍Origin

Grown in Lugu Township, Nantou County, the historic home of Taiwanese oolong, where Dong Ding has been crafted for over 150 years.

⛰️ Altitude

Cultivated at around 600–1,000m, where cool mornings and mountain mist slow leaf growth and build natural sweetness.

🌤️ Growing Conditions

Misty, humid slopes and fertile soil produce thick, flavourful leaves. After rolling, the tea is roasted to develop its signature warmth, depth and long-lasting sweetness.
